    While browsing a Labyrinth guild on gaiaonline.com, I stumbled upon an old Nintendo game of the Labyrinth. Now you can play the game online.

    Here is the game: [link]

    And if the download doesn't work for you like it didn't for me, here's a youtube video of it: [link]

    There is some confusion and or uncertainties about the copyright law. The following was sent in a note to the club from :iconartimake: :
    I think that the law, as it was explained to me, was that if your work was not signed, watermarked, or in some other way marked as yours it would be considered public domain but the person trying to use it would have to prove that they tried to learn who the creator was. You, again as I understand it, are not required to pay for copyright, just sign your work or watermark the images.

    -------

    From :iconphantomsrose:

    "Hello everyone :floating:

    ...this is an issue that every artist, photographer, and art appreciator should be aware of. I apologize in advance if this is considered as an annoyance to any individual. :)

    The US government, as well as a few countries in Europe are trying to pass legislation that requires all artists of any kind (artists, designers, musicians, writers, filmakers) to register their creations with private registries for a fee. If creations are not registered, they become "Orphaned Works" which means basically that they have no copyright and become public domain- meaning that anyone can sell or distribute them without the original artist seeing any income whatsoever. You can read more about it here;

    Below is a link to sign a petition against this act;

    Below is a link with the contact information for the president and all US senators, representatives, state governors and legislators;

    Please let us all as beings whom express themselves in creating and/or enjoy others expression put a stop to this.

    Forward this to everyone and anyone you know.

    A couple of subjects were breached at the current comic con that :iconrazuberii: was happy to share with us!

    First of all, volume 2 of the Labyrinth manga will be coming out in October.

    It was noted that the artist of the manga wanted to draw Jareth freaked out in a couple of points, but Jim Henson company thought it would be better in Jareth seemed calm and in control. Also, it was said that those who love Jareth x Sarah will love the ending of the second volume.

    It was said that if we like Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal we would also enjoy Undertown.

    Another movie that has a setting like Labyrinth is Neverwhere.

    Thank you for the information, :iconrazuberii:!

    Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced an Anniversary Edition of Labyrinth which stars Jennifer
    Connelly and David Bowie. This two-disc edition will be available to own from the 14th August, and should retail at around $24.96. As well as an all-new transfer, the set features never-before-seen footage recovered from Jim Henson's home in England, and 60 minutes of exclusive featurettes (including "Paper, Cloth and Creatures", and "Coming of Age") that include interviews with luminaries such as George Lucas and Brian Froud. Topping it all off will be some special lenticular packaging.

    Also arriving on the 14th August will be a 25th Anniversary Edition of Dark Crystal which should keep fans of Jim Henson happy. The two-disc set will again feature an all-new digital transfer, along with footage recovered from Jim Henson's home, a new commentary by Conceptual Designer/Supervisor Brian Froud, and 50 minutes of all-new featurettes (including "Creatures and Creations", "Lifelike Illusion", and "Singular Vision and the Kingdom United"). Again, the discs will arrive housed in lenticular packaging.

    :iconnonchalantconcern:'s Random Facts:

    +Labyrinth Facts:
    In the DVD version, there are hidden faces in seven scenes. In general, they resemble the head that Jareth leans against before giving Hoggle the peach (David Bowie's actual face at that time). The faces can be found: Upper right corner of the [stone] maze, just after the worm shakes its head and says "If she'd have kept on going down that way..." To the right of the screen, after the rung under Hoggle breaks, as he watches it fall. Upper Left corner of the hedge maze, as Hoggle is muttering "Get through the labyrinth, get through the labyrinth, one thing's for sure... " Lower left corner of the wall bordering the Bog of Eternal Stench, just after the ledge breaks under Sarah and Hoggle for the second time. During the wide shot of the hedge maze in the middle left on the stony floor just after the hat says, "It's so stimulating being your hat your hat." In the forest as Sir Didymus says "We should reach the castle well before day."

    +David Bowie Facts:
    Davdi Bowie filmed a new part in the movie August with Josh Hartnett. He plays a hard-nosed British CEO of a dotcom company. August isn't due a theatrical release until 2009, but you can check it out on IMDB.com.

    So, I just found this amazing website and game thanks to Bowie Daily on LiveJournal!

    The website: [link]

    And if you poke around enough you'll see that they have this wonderful game. It's called Bowiehugging and your object is to get past the security guard and hug/kiss Bowie on stage. My favorite part is the noise he makes when you kiss him!

    If you want to play: [link]

    It's quite adictive. I suggest playing the practice level first!

    Have fun!

    P.S. And if you would like to check out Bowie Daily they always have wonderful photos, news, and videos. [link]

    Ladies and Gents,

    I'm getting a little nervous here. They're coming out with a Fraggle Rock movie, and a sequel to the Dark Crystal. What makes me nervous is that I heart the rumor that people will wish to do the same with the Labyrinth.

    While I love Labyrinth dearly, I do not want to see it messed with on the big screen. There is no way it could touch the original, between CGI and the inability to get the old cast members. CGI is nice, but the rawness gave the original such a different feel! And what would Labyrinth be without David Bowie?

    I hope this stays as it is, a rumor, and nothing comes of it.

    :iconskyehaerrington:'s Two Cents

    In light of this, I'm wondering if you guys would like to see a sequel to the Labyrinth. The way I see it, they couldn't use most, if not all of the original actors. Would they completely screw it up, or would fresh, new actors bring a different twist to a sequel? I want to know what you think!

    Today I saw an advertisement for the new Labyrinth manga in my AnimeInsider magazine and I freaked!

    They talk about it a little bit here [link]

    The cover art is amazing featuring The Goblin king and an older king version of Toby.

    I was a little skeptical when I found out a month ago that the manga would be based on Toby becoming king... but I find that I don't care! IT'S THE LABYRINTH!

    I finally got the advertisement I have scaned, it is a larger version of the manga cover. [link]

    :icontray7:'s Randomness:

    There were two actors that played Ludo in alternation because the puppet was heavy and they would tire easily. In order for them to see when inside the giant puppet they had a camera placed at the end of one of Ludo's horns. There was a small screen inside for them to see their surroundings.
    I find this fascinating because the puppet mastery that one would need to play Ludo would need to be great.
    ____________________

    When the camera is slowly spanning Sarah's room at the beginning of the movie, you can see a scrap book. There is a newspaper clipping of her real mother and her new husband. If you have the DVD pause and zoom in. The actor that played the step dad is David Bowie.
    Strange in a Freudian sort of way.

    This is one of the best fan fictions in my opinion. I will warn you though... you get left hanging and feeling the want of more. However, the author has promised a sequel. So, if you read it, stay tuned for more.
